According to the President's New Freedom Commission on Mental, "Recovery is a process by which people who have mental illness are able to work, learn, and participate fully in their communities." "Resilience refers to the process by which individuals learn to cope and appropriately manage their stress or mental health challenges." Youth Can recover!
Behavior Mental Health is perfect because it gives community members, friends, and coaches an opportunity to better understand what mental health is, what some of the common diagnosis are, and how to respond to youth who might be experiencing a crisis. Behavior Health First Aid training is a great resource for anyone who works with 18-65 as it allows a person to learn specific skills that are important during a mental health crisis. Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) is an excellent in-depth program that enjoys widespread adoption across the country. However, not every department has the resources to train all officers or staff in the CIT program, nor is every officer or staff member ready for this intensive certification. The goal of most departments is to have at least 25% of their force CIT Certified. Behavior Mental Health First Aid for Public Safety is a good compliment to CIT training. It's unquestionably an effective certification one-day course for the 75% of staff or officers that are not yet CIT certified or may never be. Moreover, numerous police departments concur with the method of using Mental Health First Aid for Public Safety as a complement to their CIT program. As a first step newer officers and those who express interest in joining the CIT team, receive training in Mental Health First Aid initially. Overall, more than 20,000 Police Officers, Corrections Officers, and other Public Safety Staff have taken the course across the country. Notwithstanding, other professionals have embraced Behavioral Mental Health First Aid Training, including teachers of public, private, and charter schools. Parents, who've experienced the heartache of watching their teens and adolescents withdraw into depression, substance abuse, or anxieties, yet failed to recognize the signs are now viable candidates to obtain certification. And now you too can take this course and make a difference in your community! Mental Health is also SELF-CARE! We can help! Contact us...
